If you haven’t noticed, it’s 11.11 month on Chinese Smartphones, brought to you in partnership with our favourite smartphone importer GearBest. All month, we’re going to be bringing you the biggest and best deals from across GearBest’s website. Today, we’ve been looking at their steep smartphone discounts and have uncovered 5 absolutely huge deals that you’d be daft to miss. With free worldwide shipping and EU warehouses for many products, GearBest are my personal go-to company, so what five deals should you be looking at today? #1 – Xiaomi Mi5s 64GB International Edition – Was £393, now £250.50 When people ask me what I’d recommend for people just getting into Chinese smartphones, I nearly always recommend Xiaomi. With outstanding build quality, great specs and reasonable prices, they’re the ideal choice for most people. Back in September, I covered the announcement of the Xiaomi Mi5s and called it a ‘superb refinement‘ of an already stunning phone. You now get an invisible ultrasonic fingerprint reader (yeah, I know), Snapdragon 821 processor, 2,300mAh battery and an improved 12MP Sony 1/2.3-inch IMX378 sensor which makes use of much larger pixels sites to produce brighter, clearer images. Oh, and there’s that lovely new metal body which won’t crack like the Mi5. Best of all though, in GearBest’s wild 11.11 sale, you save £142.50, bringing the cost of the handset down to £250.50 for the beautiful silver model. Now that’s a good deal. Click here to get the deal, but beware, this price ends in 4 days! #2 – ZTE Axon Mini 4G – Was £225.84, now £117.79 Typically when a company launches a ‘mini’ version of their flagship, specs take a dive. However, that’s not the case with ZTE Axon Mini 4G. With a beautiful 5.2″ 1080p OLED screen, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage (expandable with microSD) and a fingerprint scanner, all put inside a lovely metal body, it’s a really nice budget handset. All in all, the device feels like a premium handset and with a wonderful 13MP rear camera, it takes pictures like one too. Most incredibly of all though, in the 11.11 sale, you can grab one for £117.79 – that’s less than the cost of a Moto G, for comparison. Click here to get the deal, but be quick, they’re going fast! #3 – LeTV Leeco Le Max 2 4G – Was £401.67, now £188.47 With a recent push into the global market and some wonderful smartphones, LeEco are about to take the world by storm with a huge range of products, but we’re more interested in their smartphones. In particular, the LeEco Le Max 2. It’s a clunky name for what is actually a great smartphone. With a 4K 5.7″ display, Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of memory and Android 6.0, it’s more than powerful enough for your needs, but where it really shines is in its build quality and its camera. A full metal rose gold body surrounds the device and around the back you’ll find the wonderful 21MP rear camera and fingerprint sensor. At £401.67, the Le Max 2 was a fair price, but at £188.47 it’s an absolute steal. Click here to get the deal. #4 – Lenovo ZUK Z2 Pro 4G – Was £452.66, now £306.73 You might be thinking that £306 doesn’t sound like a bargain for a Chinese smartphone, but bear with me here, because the ZUK Z2 Pro might well be the most powerful smartphone on the face of the planet. Starting with the basics, you get an incredibly bright 5.2” 1080p screen with a searing 500 nits of brightness for outdoor usage and 100% NTSC and sRGB colour gamut, an overclocked Snapdragon 820 processor, 6GB of RAM(!), and 128GB of internal storage. Oh, and we forgot to mention its optical heart rate and oxygen sensors, Samsung made 13MP 1.34um camera with an f/1.8 aperture, PDAF, OIS and a dual-tone flash. Basically, the Z2 Pro is the kind of smartphone that amazes, and for £306.73, you’re getting an incredible deal. Click here to get the offer, but don’t delay on this one. #5 – Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 – Was £441.92, now £157.06 Returning to Xiaomi for our fifth incredible deal of the day, we have the Redmi Note 4. The Redmi series has always been the more budget friendly end of Xiaomi’s line, but the Note 4 could easily be mistaken for a very high end phone indeed. With a 5.5″ 1080p display, 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory (expandable with microSD), it stands up with the best. Combine that with a 10-core Helio X20 processor, a full metal body, rear fingerprint scanner, 13MP camera and excellent build quality and, well, you’ve got a great candidate for your next smartphone. GearBest are offering the gold variant (pictured above) for just £157.06 at the moment if you click here, but as with all of these deals, it’s a limited time only sort of affair.
